Scissor lift cum trolley hybrid
This the project we have done at college for our mini . Our aims in doing this project were to develop a machine that has never done before and understand the working of the mechanical systems involved. This was how we came to develop the scissor lift cum trolley hybrid. We felt that although a trolley was widely used in small industries no mechanism was developed to lift this load . Although scissor lifts have been developed for large applications we did not find one for small scale use. Thus we decided to integerate the trolley and the scissor lift to create world's scissor trolley hybrid.
The lift uses a lead screw to transfer the circular manual force to the scissor. A chain drive is used to transfer mechanical power from the hip height to the lower lead screw. Bearings are used to support the lead screw so that it can rotate.
After developing a plan using paper and pencil, we proceeded to develop the CAD model. We took the required dimensions to complete the CAD model. Then we proceeded on to develop a prototype of the model using mild steel as shown below.For more details and CAD files click here.
